Projection Advertising Stunt

Double Take Projections were tasked by Big Think Agency to deliver an impactful one-off projection advertising stunt to kickstart the 2019/20 season ticket sales campaign. The aim was to target a large footfall of supporters after a high-attendance midweek game between Rangers and Hearts.

Although the creative was produced by Big Think Agency / SNS Group, it was important for us to collaborate throughout the process. We contributed our knowledge and expertise in creating content for large-scale projections; offering support and assistance with the project.

Detailed Template

Our team extensively photographed the Ibrox facade and stitched together the resultant images, creating a detailed to-scale template. This allowed the animators at Big Think Agency / SNS Group to make informed decisions about the positioning of content in relation to windows and extrusions on the building. The projectors were positioned at equal instances along the full length of the facade to ensure maximum legibility and reduce the amount of distortion and warping. The central control hub was positioned in the Double Take Projections trailer and featured a Datapath X4, a Laptop for networking and a MacBook Pro for running the show in MadMapper. Each projector was sheltered from the elements in a waterproof and temperature-regulated Vizbox enclosure and linked to the trailer with fibre-optic HDMI and ethernet cabling.

A Truly Engaging Campaign

The projection was unveiled after a midweek fixture between Rangers and Hearts with an attendance of 49,702. This ensured a large footfall and allowed the campaign to gain traction on various social media channels.
