ARMISTICE PROJECTIONS

Remembrance Light Show – November 2020 and 2021

“We must always remember the fallen in two world wars and later conflicts.”

“This year we cannot parade through the streets, we can’t pray in church and we can’t gather to lay wreaths. This film is our way of remembering those who gave their lives for their country.” Banbury Council

HOW WE DID IT

Lest we forget

The projection event was a touching tribute to Banbury’s war dead and commemorated those who lost their lives in two world wars and other conflicts. The film was shown on a rolling basis every day from 5pm until 10pm in the run up to Remembrance Sunday and continued for a few days after to accommodate as many people as possible while allowing for social distancing.

Our design team collaborated with Banbury Town Council and Banbury BID to produce a 5 minute film containing scenes from photographs – supplied by Soldiers of Oxford Museum – of Banbury servicemen taken during WWI. We created a poignant soundtrack featuring the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ and music from Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’.

We projected our film on to Banbury Town Hall. The emotive event was an important fund raiser for The British Legion in Banbury. During the projection the public were encouraged to donate to the Poppy Appeal.
