Poppy Scotland approached Double Take Projections to develop a campaign to increase the exposure of the 2014 / 2015 Poppy Scotland Appeal. Working closely with the Poppy Scotland team, we approached a host of venues to discuss the project and the projection of the Giant poppies onto their façades . We were overwhelmed by the support and interest in the project from local authorities, historic trusts and private companies. Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, The Three Sisters in Glencoe and the Glasgow’s City Chambers all featured in the giant projection campaign.
The spectacular photographs we provided helped create a lasting memory on social media. After a massive public engagement, a strong media strategy allowed thousands of people to see and hear about the work; both online and in National Press. The photos featured in the Metro, Sun and Daily Record. Online, the Facebook campaign reached 590,000 people.
We used a variety of different projector setups, depending on the location . For Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument we used a 16,000 lumen projector with a long throw lens. They hit their respective surfaces from 200m away. All of the equipment was contained within our van.
"Double Take Projections helped us raise the bar in how we promote the Scottish Poppy Appeal. The stunning projections onto Stirling Castle and Glasgow City Chambers were a hit with our supporters, the media and the general public alike."
