Dores on the banks of Loch Ness played host to the inaugural Groove Loch Ness Dance Festival. The event was situated in the site previously occupied by Rockness; hosted by Groove Armada, 2 Many DJs, Eli & Fur and B Traits. It has to be one of the most photogenic festival settings anywhere in the world - Scotland’s nightclub under the stars.
The bespoke stage was created to be in the same aspect ratio as the projection equipment. 2 x 21,000 lumen HD projectors were double stacked to illuminate the front stage screen. The screen was made from a mesh which allowed strobe lights situated behind to wash the screen.
We really wanted to design an experience that left the audience awestruck. 4,500 revellers attended the event with many more seeing footage of the event. The result was an amazing 3D projection which mutated the shape of the stage! The Projection Mapping Stage has trended well online and given the festival a unique visual identity.
Double Take are a pleasure to work with. The boys provide a unique creative solution backed up by expert technical delivery which is a huge benefit on site as an event manager.
