Vision Ramps commissioned us to project onto their custom set, which was designed closely with Danny MacAskill to recreate scenes from his film 'The Ridge', which launched Danny to fame in 2014. The set was constructed for Celtic Connections biggest show to date at the SSE Hydro.
Celtic Connections has gained a remarkable following and outstanding reputation within the music industry. The festival attracts audiences world-wide; a 15,000 strong audience attended the gig, which gained huge traction on social media and in the press over the following days. Not least, the event reached tens of thousands of UK-wide BBC viewers, when it was aired the following week on BBC2.
We worked with a fantastic production to team, including War Productions, to set up a base within the Hydro from which to project. We used 3 x 30,000 lumen projectors to beam the stunning Skye landscapes onto the set. All of the photographs and time lapse footage was produced by Adam Robertson.
We were extremely pleased with the way Double Take transformed our stage design into the Skye Mountains. The Double Take team were good fun to work with and the final result was a massive focal point of the show.
